Confused by DNS?

Did you know that when you send an email or when you are just browsing the Web you are using a Domain Name Server (DNS)? DNS is without a doubt a substantial factor in the internet but yet behind the scenes. Without DNS there would be no internet.

What is a domain name? When you use the internet to send an email or just for searching you use a domain name. For an example: the URL www.btinet.net. The btinet.net is the domain name which is registered to our company. So does the e-mail address of sales@btinet.net.

Why do you have to register domain? If you don’t register your domain, it is not your domain. It is anybody in this world’s domain to use until someone registers it to themselves.

Why do you have to have DNS Hosting? BTInet (or any host) leases you space for your Web files on their server, which has a direct connection to the Internet.
