TODAY is the Day…

At about 5:00pm CST, BTInet will be migrating to our NEW email system. This new system will provide improved performance, new Webmail options, and an additional level of SPAM filtering and virus scanning.

How Will This Affect You?

No changes will be required by our customers to access the new email system. However, the first time you log in to check your email on the new system, you may encounter a delay while your email from the old mail server is transferred over to the new system. The extent of the delay will depend on the amount of mail you have stored out on the mail server. Once the transfer of your existing mail is completed, email should work for you just as it had on the old system.

What if I use Webmail?

If you use Webmail to access your email (http://webmail.btinet.net), the interface will look slightly different, but you will log in the same way. One of the additional features of the new mail system is that you will have a choice when you log in of whether to use Webmail Lite or Tuxedo. This choice can be changed any time you log into Webmail, so feel free to experiment and see which one works best for you.

If you have an Address Book set up in Webmail, the information will carry over to the new system automatically, so nothing will need to be done to retain this information. However, the information will look different than it did on the old system. If you have distribution lists set up in your Webmail Address Book, those will NOT be available on the new system.

**BTInet WILL NOT require you to give us your passwords. If you recieve any e-mails or phone calls asking you to enter or give your password – do NOT give it out! BTInet will never ask for your password.
