Grand Forks, ND Flood Marker (4/13/11)

The flooding in North Dakota is hitting the Local & National News. Luckily for BTInet, flooding has not affected us but is hitting our neighboring towns. Officials have just reopened a 30-mile stretch of Interstate 29 that was closed north of Fargo due to flooding earlier in the week.

The town of Burlington has been asking residents to leave their homes as the dirt-and-rock dam could wash out at anytime. Valley City residents who live along the Sheyenne River built up their dikes Wednesday after being told the river could come in higher and sooner than expected. Grand Forks & Fargo have been filling and placing sandbags out for months to fight back the Red River.

Those are just a few of the towns that have been affected by the 2011 flooding. Many roads have been washed away or covered with water. The North Dakota National Guard has been on high alert in many different towns. Here at BTInet, want to thank everyone that has helped out our state with the current flooding.
