Outlook Express Settings for BTInet Email

If you have BTInet email addresses and are using a different internet service provider (ISP) you can still use Outlook Express for your checking your BTInet email.  Please read through the settings below to make sure you have everything set up correctly. 

Reminder:  you can use our webmail anywhere, anytime, any place.  Check it out at webmail.btinet.net!

 

Server Settings

POP3:  **Call BTInet for setting**

SMTP:  **Call BTInet for setting**

Change Outgoing Server to Require Authentication

  • Open Outlook Express
  • Click Tools
  • Click Account Settings
  • Click the mail tab
  • Highlight the mail account
  • Click Properties
  • Click Servers tab
  • Verify the following:
    • My incoming mail server is a POP3 server
    • Incoming mailing (POP3): **Call BTInet for setting**
    • Outgoing mail (SMTP): **Call BTInet for setting**
    • Account Name: full e-mail address (case sensitive)
    • Password: your password (case sensitive)
  •  Under the Outgoing Mail Server section near the bottom – Place a check mark in the box in front of My Server Requires Authentication
  • Click the Settings button
  • Place a dot in front of Log on Using
  • Fill In:
    • Account Name: Full e-mail address (case sensitive)
    • Password: your password (case sensitive)
  • Click OK
  • Click OK
  • Click Close
