Windows Live Mail with BTInet Email

Do you have your internet connection through a different provider and cannot send e-mail through my BTInet mail account?  Not a problem — follow the steps below and you should be able to send e-mail.  If not, give us a call and we will be happy to assist you.

Change Outgoing Server to Require Authentication

  • Open Windows Live Mail
  • Click Tools
  • Click Accounts
  • Under the Mail section
  • Highlight the btinet mail account
  • Click Properties
    Click Servers tab
  • Verify the following:
    • My incoming mail server is a POP3 server
    • Incoming Mail (POP3) (call for this information)
    • Outgoing Mail (SMTP) (call for this information)
    • Account Name: full e-mail address (case sensitive)
    • Password (case sensitive)
  • Under the Outgoing Mail Server section near the bottom, please a check mark in the box in front of My Server Requires Authentication.
  • Click the Settings button
  • Place a dot in front of Log on Using
  • Fill in:
    • Account Name: Full e-mail address (case sensitive)
    •  Password (case sensitive)
  • Click OK
  • Click OK
  • Click Close
