Bring Your Own Device

A high percentage of IT departments’ worldwide support Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) practices. This has enabled employees to use their personal mobile devices to access corporate networks and resources may have improved employee productivity.

The way things are going; BYOD will only increase. Anytime, anywhere access with smartphones, tablets, and other mobile devices can improve employee productivity.  Nevertheless this has also created a complicated security problem.  Personal mobile devices may be running unprotected, non-secured, dangerous or malicious apps on the company network which can lead to malware attacks, loss or theft of confidential corporate and personal data.

There is a variety of benefits to allowing users to supply their own PC and mobile devices, but there are also some concerns. Make sure you understand both in order to embrace BYOD with confidence.
