Proud to march: Basin Electric employees step up for babies’ health

After six years of assembling volunteers to put their best feet forward in support of prematurely born babies, Germain Krueger does not suspect she will slow down any time soon.

Krueger and the Basin Electric Team once again took part in the March for Babies event April 6 at the Bismarck Civic Center. The North Dakota chapter of the March of Dimes orchestrates the walk, which attracted about 400 participants who were able to raise nearly $40,000. This year’s Basin Electric trio contributed $2,211 to the cause, a feat that hits close to home.

March for Babies is especially meaningful for the mother of two because it is largely aimed at fighting the respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), which could have affected her premature infant daughter, had the right medication not come to be because of research funded by the March of Dimes.
